Retreat

Retreat Structure and Sponsorship Model

The retreats will be designed to offer transformative healing and empowerment for women recovering from toxic relationships. Each retreat will be limited to 12 women to ensure an intimate and focused environment, where participants can receive personalized attention and support.
To make these retreats accessible to women who may not have the financial means, we will be implementing a sponsorship model. Our goal is to offer free retreats to all selected participants, thanks to the generosity of sponsors. We plan to create a dedicated “Sponsor a Woman Warrior” page on our website, where individuals, companies, or organizations can choose to sponsor a woman’s participation. The sponsorship will cover the full cost of the retreat for one woman.
The cost of each retreat will vary depending on the location and the specific services included (e.g., lodging, meals, activities). To ensure transparency and fairness, we will divide the total retreat cost by 12 participants, and the goal will be for each participant to be fully sponsored by a donor or sponsor. This model allows us to provide free access to women in need while maintaining the sustainability of the retreat program.
To facilitate this process, we will work with sponsors to ensure that each retreat is well-funded, impactful, and able to support the women who attend. The sponsorship page will allow potential sponsors to choose how they wish to contribute—whether it be covering the full retreat cost for a specific participant or contributing to the overall retreat fund.
The logistics of each retreat, including the location and pricing, will be communicated clearly on our website, and each retreat will be planned with the utmost care to create a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.

Sponsor Strategy

At Women of Love and War, my goal is to target new sponsors who are aligned with our mission to empower women who have experienced toxic relationships. Our goal is to create meaningful partnerships with organizations and individuals who are committed to supporting women’s healing and growth.
I want to create a clear and structured sponsorship strategy to ensure consistent revenue while also providing sponsors with valuable exposure and a direct connection to the women they are supporting. Here’s how I plan to engage with sponsors

Logo Display and Recognition

Sponsors who choose to support a woman warrior by covering her retreat costs will have the opportunity to have their company logo displayed on our website. This will showcase their commitment to empowering women and will provide visibility to their brand within our community.

Annual Celebration Dinner

Each year, we host an annual celebration dinner where women warriors who have participated in our empowerment retreats are celebrated. Sponsors will be invited to display a table at this event, where they can interact with the participants, share their support, and network with other sponsors and community members. This event offers a unique opportunity for sponsors to directly engage with the women whose lives they’ve impacted.

Personalized Appreciation

Sponsors will receive a custom letter from the woman they have sponsored, thanking them for their contribution and sharing how their sponsorship has made a positive difference in her life. This personal touch not only highlights the impact of their donation but also fosters a deep, meaningful connection between the sponsor and the women they are helping.

Different Sponsorship Levels

oWe will offer various sponsorship levels to accommodate different budgets and involvement preferences. Sponsors can choose to support specific aspects of the retreat, such as

Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner Sponsorship

Sponsors can choose to cover the cost of one of the meals provided during the retreat, allowing them to directly contribute to the well-being and comfort of the women attending.

Warrior Gift Baskets Sponsorship

Sponsors can contribute to the warrior gift baskets we give to each participant at the end of the retreat. These baskets will contain items that support their continued healing journey and will be a memorable token of appreciation for the women.

Nonprofit vs. Business Structure

It’s important to understand whether the project is intended to operate as a nonprofit or a for-profit business. There’s a great example of a nonprofit I’ve worked with that started with a mission to reduce plastic waste. They began by advocating for aluminum straws, and today, they’re selling eco-friendly products, making donations, and growing their revenue stream. You can check out their website for a solid example of how to balance mission-driven work with monetization. https://mermaidstraw.com/collections/stainless-steel
I’d also love to understand more about the core mission of Women of Love and War. What is your primary cause? Knowing the underlying purpose will guide how we position this initiative moving forward.
Women of Love and War operates as a nonprofit organization with the primary mission to empower women who have experienced toxic relationships and help them heal, grow, and rediscover their strength and self-worth. Our core focus is on providing free retreats, support programs, and personal development opportunities to women who need a safe and nurturing space to begin their healing journey. We are committed to ensuring that every woman, regardless of her financial situation, can access these transformative resources.
Our primary cause is to help women who have suffered in toxic environments reclaim their power, rebuild their confidence, and rediscover the joy and beauty of who they are. We believe every woman has the right to heal and thrive, and through our retreats, online resources, and community support, we aim to guide them through the process of recovery.
While our nonprofit status drives the foundation of our work, we understand that sustainable funding is crucial to ensuring long-term success. As such, we plan to incorporate revenue-generating activities in alignment with our mission, similar to the example you provided with Mermaid Straw. However, our approach will always prioritize mission-driven initiatives while ensuring that funds raised through these activities directly benefit the women we serve.

Our monetization strategies will include

  • Selling survivor shirts and affirmation cardsthat serve as both empowerment tools and fundraising opportunities.
  • Offering health coaching and life coachingservices online to help women continue their healing journey at a sustainable cost.
  • Retreat sponsorship opportunities, where businesses or individuals can sponsor women to attend our healing retreats, ensuring no participant has to pay for the experience.
By diversifying revenue streams while staying true to our mission, we will continue to provide the life-changing programs and resources that women need without compromising the values at the heart of Women of Love and War.
